How to Transport Your Pet

Your pet's health and well-being is very important to us. Please make sure to carefully read all of the information provided in the Pet Connect section of our website. The following steps below are intended to help walk you through the process and better prepare you for your pet’s trip.

Call to Make a Reservation

Pet Connectâ„¢ reservations are required for all live animal shipments and must be made at least 24 hours and more than 30 days prior to travel.

Before you call, please have the following information ready:

  • Animal breed
  • Age
  • Kennel size (length, width, height)
  • Approximate weight of the animal
  • Ship from and ship to cities
  • Date of travel
  • Shipper and consignee info (name, address and phone)
  • Required health certificates and travel documentation

Dropping Off Your Pet

On the day of your flight, please make sure you and your pet are ready before arriving at the cargo facility.

Please have the following ready upon arrival at the cargo facility:

  • Air waybill
  • Completed food and water certification, attached to the kennel
  • Health certificate signed by licensed veterinarian and issued within the required timeframe for your destination
  • One food dish and one water dish securely attached inside the kennel and accessible from the outside
  • The flight number(s) to the final destination clearly marked on the kennel and on the health certificate envelope
  • A clearly labeled name, address, and 24-hour phone number for both the shipper and consignee on the kennel

Also consider:

  • Weather conditions at the origin, transit, and destination
  • Your pet's comfort and care needs
  • The cargo facility's location and hours of operation

Preparing these items in advance helps ensure a smooth check-in and a safe, comfortable journey for your pet.

Tracking Your Pet

If you signed up for notifications (step 3), you'll receive email updates on your pet's journey. You can also track your pet online using your air waybill number.

Picking Up Your Pet

Pets are available for pickup within one (1) hour after arrival. Pet's must be picked up within four (4) hours of arrival to ensure proper care. If pick up is delayed beyond four (4) hours, kenneling may be required to support your pet's comfort and well-being.

Before arriving to pick up your pet, please:

  • Confirm your pickup location and hours
  • Have your air waybill number ready

Timing

  • If you signed up for notifications (step 3), you will receive status information by email.
  • You can also track your pet online. Have your air waybill number ready and see the status of your shipment.
