Innovative Airspace goes for GoldStreak Express with its time-critical shipments

Whether shipping parts to a stalled auto assembly line, or rushing an organ to a waiting transplant patient, innovative freight forwarder Airspace specializes in shipments where every minute matters. Next Flight Out (NFO) cargo service isn’t a splurge, it’s the necessary choice – and across Alaska Air Cargo’s 100-city network, Airspace chooses GoldStreak Express.

“We’re shipping time-critical goods all the time, and when we’re shipping with Alaska, we’re moving on GoldStreak,” says Ben Kozy, Chief Operating Officer for Airspace, which is headquartered in Carlsbad, just north of San Diego (SAN), and navigates shipments around the world.

Airspace moves time-critical freight for the aerospace and semiconductor industries, as well as auto manufacturing and healthcare industries, including Covid test specimens. The forwarder counts on the Alaska Air Cargo teams’ efficient station operations and caring customer service for the most sensitive cargo.

“You’ve kept cargo facilities open later for life-saving shipments,” says Kozy, who says such a request usually involves a kidney or another organ scheduled for transplant. “For those, we’re in constant communication, whether through live chat or otherwise.”

From its start in 2016, Airspace has built its business on innovating logistics – deploying technology advances to streamline booking, improve reliability and provide new transparency in cargo tracking. And from the beginning of the partnership, Airspace and Alaska Air Cargo have seized opportunities to innovate together, including collaborating on the development of our live chat tool, which was improved by valuable feedback from Airspace beta testers. As Alaska Air Cargo looks to upgrade its customer tools over the next year, the Airspace team is eager to collaborate again.

“The quicker we can do our work, the better,” Kozy says. “As a tech-forward company that’s scaling as quickly as we are, we’re just trying to grab every little scalable piece we can. A new website tool may seem small, but it matters.”
